Why it comes up

Window cleaning is widely treated as a spring and autumn purchase, which leaves a long gap in the middle of the year when a building still has to be looked at by the people who use it. A storefront is judged hardest in the months when the daylight is shortest, and an office with salted, grit-streaked glass reads the same way to a visitor in February as it would in June.

So the question we get is not whether it is worth doing, but whether it can be done at all. It can. We work through the winter and have done since 1987.

What we can tell you about winter work

Four things, each of them true of every winter visit.

We work year round

Window cleaning does not stop for the season. Neither does the rest of what we do, because the crew already works at height in every month of the year.

Cold-weather technique

The crew is experienced with cold-weather technique. Winter glass is not summer glass done slower, and the method changes with the conditions.

Products formulated for the conditions

The products are formulated to work in a New Brunswick winter, and they are the same commercial-grade, eco-friendly products we use the rest of the year.

Judgement on the coldest days

There is no fixed cut-off temperature. Through a typical Canadian winter the crew judges each day on the conditions, and if a day is not suitable for exterior work, we will tell you.

Booking a winter visit

The process is the process. Tell us the property and roughly how many windows, and we will come back with an estimate. Estimates are free and there is no obligation, in January the same as in July.

We need the building type, the number of floors and how often you want it done.

Questions we get asked

If the answer you need is not here, phoning is faster than a form.

Do you clean windows in winter?

Yes, year round. The crew is experienced with cold-weather technique and the products are formulated to work in a New Brunswick winter.

Is there a temperature below which you will not work outside?

There is no fixed cut-off. We work through a typical Canadian winter, and on the coldest days the crew judges whether exterior work can be done well and safely. If a day is not suitable, we will tell you.

Do roof anchor certifications expire in winter too?

They can. Anchor systems are inspected on an annual cycle, so a certificate expires on its own anniversary rather than at the end of a season. What the inspection covers.
